Autumn In Indiana : October 2008. The few times in Ocotber that I got my camera out. On the 11th, a morning walk in Craig Park. Next time, a few shots around my place one afternoon. Then a mini-vacation (26th-28th) down to Nashville, IN. Sunday (26th) we drove thru the Brown County State Park. Tuesday (28th) while Chuck was checking out of our room, I walked behind the Inn to take pictures in the morning sun.

Scenes from Fall Creek Falls State Park, TN : August 8 & 9, 2008. We didn't get much time to investigate the park, but I hope we can in the future. We didn't make it to the two falls that are in the park, but the Old Swimmin' Hole is a beautiful & popular place. The Fall Creek Falls Lake is huge & great for fishing. Jacob Schramm Nature Preserve : The best time to go hiking in the woods is before the vegetation & mosquitoes get too thick. Several years ago, 30 of the 40 acres of woods the Schramm family owns was donated as a nature preserve. Here is a little "walk" thru the woods next to us.

Of Times Past : The Schramm's have owned this land since the mid-1830's. When we first moved here, I used to roam thru their wooded area. I had found some old farm equipment that had been left to rust & the woods had surrounded. The other day, I decided to take a hike with my cameras to see what wildflowers I could find & to see the old farm equipment. I thot it would be fun to take a wheel back & put in the yard, but it's impossible for two reasons. First all the wheels are too heavy or rusted. Secondly, it is now in the land the Schramm family donated as a nature preserve. The nature preserve is named after Jacob Schramm, who came from Germany in 1836. (April 18, 2008)
