WA #1 Our Day in Seattle 7/2008 : July 16. The Cooper family, Elisa, Chuck & I spent the day walking around Seattle. It was a workout walking up & down the "hills" compared to flat Indiana. We left Port Ludlow, parked the car in Bainbridge Island (Winslow, as the locals call it) & boarded the ferry to Seattle. Mt. Rainier was visible, but my camera wouldn't focus on it in the morning. I prefer the Olympic Peninsula, but now I can say that I spent the day in Seattle.

WA #2 Sequim Lavender Festival : July 18. Jo, all the kids, Chuck & I went to Sequim for the 12th annual Lavender festival. It was a beautiful day. We visited three of eight Lavender farms. Yes, I spent most of my money there! We started out in Sequim, bought passes, visited two farms by bus & the third was on our way home. Just about everything you eat or buy has Lavender in it - hotdogs, chicken (yum), ice cream, lemonade, to name a few. Of course all the home & beauty products that were there in abundance. WA #3 We're in Lavender 7/2008 : July 18, 2008 - The 12th Annual Sequim Lavender Festival. I did not take these pictures. Photographer Valerie Henschel would take your picture with your camera in a field of lavender. These pictures were taken at the "Jardin du Soleil" Organic Lavender farm in Sequim, WA. I did do a little editing - crop, contrast, sharpening, & even a little "erasing" the chocolate off one of the kid's face. As you can see, the kids had fun posing. Enjoy our fun!

WA #2 July 2006 The Cooper's Abode : July 2006 Album #2. This is the Cooper's abode & surroundings & what I "lovingly" call the Cooper's Bed & Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Inn. It was a blessing to go & visit them after they moved from Indiana & see where they live. It was a blessing to visit with the members of the little Church that meet in their home.

WA #4 July 2006 Cape Flattery Day Trip : July 2006 Album #4 Nicki & Kenny Chapman took Chuck & I to Cape Flattery, the northwestern point on the continential USA & to the Pacific Coast. I was able to put my feet in the Pacific Ocean. I now have put my feet in the Atlantic Ocean (Maine, NH, VA, NC, FL), the Gulf Coast (AL & FL), the English Channel (Broadstairs, England) & the Pacific Ocean (WA, Makah Indian Reservation). I have also been on the Isles of Shoals, Maine, the furthest point of the eastern US! Not bad in 20 years, huh?

WA #3 July 2006 Hurricane Ridge Day Trip : July 2006 Album #3. We (Nicki & Ken Chapman, Jo & Daniel Cooper, & Chuck & I) left Port Ludlow early on Thursday morning to go to Hurricane Ridge. Places we stopped on that day - Sequim Bay, Lake Crescent, Lake Mills, Marymere Falls, Elwha River & Hurrincane Ridge. It is beautiful & diverse on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.

WA #5, 29 July 2007 - John Wayne Marina & Dungeness : Washington vacation album #5. Sunday after church, Kenny & Nicki Chapman took Chuck & I to the John Wayne Marina & to the Dungeness Spit. That area is the Dungeness National Wildllife Refuge. It was overcast, cold & windy that day. Considering that it was very hot & humid in Indiana, this was a very welcome change!
